Hello,

My name is Mikko Leinonen. I am a  Landscape photographer from the city of Oulu, Finland, Northern Ostrobothnia.

In my photos I want to bring out the Finnish landscape. The Sunrise and the sunset. The summer night lights. The Midnight moon. There is a unique atmosphere in every shot.

Photographing Northern lights is one of my passions. In the north from autumn until late spring the blazing northern lights are one of the finest phenomena that a person can experience and see in nature. The rhythmic motion of the Northern Lights as well as the wonderful vibrant colors and light create a strong atmosphere.

I have always liked photography at night and to this day I have photographed mostly between sunset and sunrise. Midsummer Night’s bright light and the hazy river are a sight to be remembered. Nature is most sensitive then and you can feel it with every cell in your body. The best thing about night-time photography is the peace and silence which you can experience only at that time of the day. Only nature and it’s sound are present and the mind can rest in peace.

I hope that my photos make you feel something that I’ve felt during my voyage.
